Fair Play, hırs ve rekabetin merkezde olduğu ve aynı zamanda etik meseleleri de ele alan bir psikolojik gerilim filmidir. Film, bir finans şirketinde çalışan Emily ve Luck isimli çifti ele almaktadır ve Emily’nin terfi almasıyla ilişkilerinde oluşan çatışma sürecini inceler. Çalışmada kullanılacak olan Gottman Çift Terapisi yöntemi, Temelde bir ilişki terapisi ekolüdür. Daha çok sistemik terapi ve ilişki odaklı yaklaşımlar çerçevesinde yer alan Gottman Çift Terapisi, çiftler arasındaki ilişkilerin güçlendirilmesi ve sorunların çözülmesi amacıyla geliştirilen, bilimsel temellere dayanan bir terapi modelidir. Dr. John Gottman ve Dr. Julie Schwartz Gottman tarafından oluşturulmuş olan yöntem, çiftlerin ilişkilerinde farkındalık kazanmasına, olumlu etkileşimlerini artırmasına ve uzun vadede kalıcı mutluluğu hedeflemesine yardımcı olur. Bu çalışma nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi metoduyla oluşturulmuş olup Fair Play filminin Gottman çift terapisi bağlamında analiz edilmesi amacını gütmektedir.
