Abstract

Abstract: Miniatures found in manuscripts are historical documents that provide important information in terms of reflecting the social, cultural, structure and lifestyle of the society of the century in which they were made. Miniatures, which are visual projections of the sultans' victories and campaigns and scenes that are important in daily life, provide important information about the past as well as artistic value.

Nüzhet-i Esrârü'l-Ahyâr Der-Ahbâr-ı Sefer-i Sigetvar work; It is about the Sigetvar expedition of Suleiman the Magnificent, and was prepared in (H.974/M:1566). The observations of Feridun Ahmed Pasha, who personally participated in the expedition as Suleiman the Magnificent's secret secretary, during this war, Suleiman's death during the expedition, II. It is a work describing Selim's ascension to the throne and the first years of his reign. The work in question is registered in the Topkapı Palace Museum Library H.1392. There are twenty depictions in the work, which is thought to be miniatures of Nakkaş Osman. The miniatures depicting war that will be analyzed in this article are the war scenes on folio 40b in the manuscript. The subject is the fall of the third base. The general view of an Ottoman castle siege, the soldier figures who carried out the Conquest and their duties will be evaluated in terms of the weapons used and military clothing. Documenting the war inventory used by our ancestors in the past and passing it on to future generations has led us to prepare this article.
